Beer & Beef

There is a lot on tap this weekend and I’m not entirely convinced I’m going to successfully pull it off. I still plan to brew beer tomorrow as a redo for a beer that I tried to brew a few months ago and totally forgot the hops. I also plan to do beef ribs on Sunday (assuming we can acquire some). I’m more optimistic about the beef ribs than I am about the beer as the ribs require far less of my attention and Melanie has to go into the hospital. I may push the beer off to next Saturday so I’m not trying to brew and watch two kids at the same time! We’ll see.

But even if I don’t brew, there’s still plenty to drink. (Whew) One of our favorite local breweries, NOLA Brewing, started doing what they’re calling Friday Night Flights. I ordered the flight with the paired chocolates and picked it all up yesterday. Melanie and I will split the beer and there’s a Facebook live stream to go along with it. It should be fun! We’ll be drinking:

Irish Channel Stout ⁣⁣⁣
Peanut Butter Espresso BonBon Stout ⁣⁣⁣
Blackberry Cobbler Macaron Stout ⁣⁣⁣
Dryades- Sour Brown Ale with Plums and Cherries ⁣⁣⁣
LA Lager- As a nice palate cleanser⁣

I’ve had the first three on that list and we’re both very excited for the sour. This should be a fun experience! And tomorrow is supposed to be the annual Champaign stroll on Magazine. So we’ll be opening a nice bottle of Lambrusco.

Somehow with all the drinking I’ll still manage to get a ride and run in 8)
