Well, my training is still going forward. I won’t say its going well until I get my times down to where I am happy with them. Right now my 11:30 minute miles are unacceptable but not surprising. Really a combination of 6 weeks off the road and stifling heat when I do run isn’t making it easy. I could run in the morning when its cooler but realistically I just can’t depend on myself to wake up consistently and do it. And I don’t want to get into work later than I am now (now being around 8 – 8:30 most days). I’ll do a morning run on Sundays when I do my long runs. (And my weekday runs will get pretty long too so morning runs are out!)
Right now I’m doing 4 mile runs during the week and 6 miles on Sunday. I’m planning on following today’s 4 miler with a quick 2 mile run tomorrow evening. Thursday will be 4 miles again. Then I’ll do 6 miles on Sunday. After that I’ll see where I’m at and go from there. I’d like to increase my mileage to 4.5 miles next week so hopefully by Sunday my legs will be returning.
