Walt Disney Marathon – Post Race

Wow, so I finished my marathon on Sunday and I have to say it was quite an experience!  I’ve run a marathon once before but I honestly barely remember it.  I didn’t run the whole thing and it took me around 8 hours to complete.  I’ve never considered it my ‘marathon’ and I don’t even like talking about it.  So while this wasn’t my first it still felt like it.  It was a crazy weekend, that’s for sure. First, we went to Disney on Saturday to check in and get the hotel room.  This all took longer than I expected …

Disney, Here I Come!

Its 10 days into the new year and I wanted to blog more.  It took me 10 whole days!  What a horrible start.  Actually, not too bad.  I spent much of the past week working on optimizing this blog.  I’ve been very unhappy with the performance of the site so first I had to fix it up.  Now that it actually loads quickly, it’ll be worth using as a blog! The other thing I wanted to do, which made the optimizing even harder, was migrating my photo gallery from Picasa to here.  Now I like Google but I wanted to …

I Don’t Make Resolutions…

But I will set some goals for 2013!  Are they the same thing?  I dunno, maybe.  I guess I’ve always felt like resolutions are “I’m going to change my whole life starting on Jan 1!” and then noone ever does.  Or most people don’t.  But anyway, here are a few goals I have for 2013: 1) Run 1500 miles.  I don’t know how, but I never seem to have a ton of mileage by the end of the year.  This year I have about 300 miles.  300!  That’s pathetic.  I have 129 miles just this month.  Last year was my …

Shamrock 5K

Well, after my last 5K a couple weeks ago I decided I wanted to another one quickly.  I’ve probably over trained the past couple weeks since then and this past week I took it much easier after grinding out around 30 miles of running in an 8 or 9 day span.  I had a great 6 mile run with a friend last Sunday but ever since my legs have been feeling it.  I did a 2 miler on Tuesday and my right shin really hurt.  Damn those shin splints.  So in the interest of not aggravating that I only did …

Good Run

I went running with a friend from a former client today.  I have him on my Ragnar Relay team and we’ve been trying to hang out for a few months now.  We did 6 miles and overall I was pretty happy with it.  We finished in just about 10:00 min/mile pace.  It was a nice way to get the morning started and then we hit up a place called Smoke for a brunch afterwards. Definitely have picked up my running the past few weeks.  Since the last week of February I’ve done 30 miles.  Just last week I did about …
